Map of bathing sites

The sites rated by the European Environment Agency, on a map. Click a point: its full record opens right here, without leaving the page.

The map loads when the page opens.

A numbered circle groups several sites too close together to tell apart: its colour is the group's most common rating. Click it to zoom in.

This list mirrors the sites visible on the map, nearest to the centre first. It can be used with the keyboard.

    Bathing water

Lakes, rivers, ponds and coastline, everywhere in Europe.

From raw data to information you can actually use

Public analyses are precise but unreadable. Akvido bridges the gap, in three steps.

    1. 1

      We fetch the official analyses

For tap water, the Hub'Eau platform run by the French Ministry of Health. For bathing water, the European Environment Agency database, fed by all 27 member states. The same data the authorities use.

    2. 2

We compare them to the legal limits

Nitrates, pesticides, PFAS, lead, bacteriology: every parameter is measured against its regulatory limit. Nothing invented, nothing weighted to suit us.

    3. 3

We turn it into a score and plain words

A grade, a colour, an explanation. You decide with full knowledge, without having to interpret a laboratory table.

    What Akvido does

    A clear score

A grade from A to E summarising compliance, computed from the actual regulatory parameters.

    All of Europe for bathing

22,289 classified sites — lakes, rivers, ponds and coastline — from the Algarve to the Baltic.

    Eleven years of history

Water quality is judged over time. You see the trend, not just today's snapshot.

    Change alerts

Get notified when a site you follow changes class or an analysis steps out of line.

    PFAS tracking

Forever chemicals, against the European limit of 0.10 µg/L in force since January 2026.

    Every term explained

Turbidity, THM, metabolites: a plain-language glossary, one tap away.

    What Akvido does not do

    • We sell no filters, no water softeners, no bottled water.
    • We do not dramatise: a measured value is shown against its limit, without alarmist commentary.
    • We invent no data. When an analysis does not exist, we say so.
    • We require neither an account nor an email address to check your town.

A note on how fresh the data is

The European bathing classification is annual: it summarises a whole season, computed over four years of sampling. French tap water analyses are published with a delay of a few weeks to a few months. We always display the sampling date, so you always know how old what you are reading is.
